Why We Exist
Every profession has a point where education ends and experience begins.
For notaries, that point often comes immediately after receiving a commission.
When Kimberly founded Notary Academy in 2020, she wasn't simply looking at the profession as a commissioned notary. She had spent years hiring notaries through her national signing service, reviewing appointments, solving problems, and seeing the work from an entirely different perspective.
She wasn't watching one notary. She was watching hundreds. And over time, a pattern emerged.
There was no shortage of commissioned notaries. There was a shortage of confident professionals. The challenges weren't extraordinary situations.
They were ordinary appointments. A signer whose identification didn't quite match. A certificate that didn't fit the requested act or compliance for the state. A family member answering for the signer. A document that felt incomplete.
Questions every working notary eventually encounters. The issue wasn't intelligence. It wasn't willingness. It certainly wasn't effort. Many notaries simply had never been shown how to think through these situations with confidence and sound professional judgment.
